• Reducing trading card hobby waste.

While the trading card hobby generates billions of dollars in economic activity, the environmental impact of hobby plastics remains largely unaddressed. Millions of sleeves, holders, and packaging materials are used each year, but few recycling pathways exist for these specialized plastics. Through community participation and education, SleeveCycle aims to create a more sustainable future for the hobby.
  • Protecting the Hobby's Future

SleeveCycle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiative helping collectors reuse and responsibly recycle plastic supplies like sleeves, top loaders, and packaging materials — keeping hobby plastics out of landfills. Here's how you can help:

    Recycle Hobby Materials

Unused sleeves, top loaders, and pack wrappers don’t have to end up in the trash. Send your extra hobby supplies to SleeveCycle and help ensure they are reused whenever possible or responsibly recycled when they can’t be reused.

    Become a Member

Join a community of collectors who believe the hobby can grow responsibly. Monthly members help SleeveCycle expand reuse and recycling programs while supporting sustainable practices in the trading card hobby.

    Make a Tax-Deductable Donation

Your donation helps SleeveCycle collect, sort, reuse, and recycle hobby plastics that would otherwise end up in landfills. Every tax-deductable contribution supports building a more sustainable future for the hobby.

  • Accepted Materials

SleeveCycle currently accepts clean, dry hobby plastics and packaging, including:

  • How It Works

SleeveCycle follows a responsible materials heirarchy to keep materials out of landfills and promote sustainable hobby practices.

    1

    Collect

Collectors send in used hobby supplies that would otherwise be discarded. Read more about what we accept and request a shipping label.

    2

    Reuse First

Usable supplies are donated to chartities or youth organizations so they can continue serving collectors and hobby programs.

    3

    Recycle when Possible

Materials that cannot be reused are sorted and sent to specialized recycling partners.

    4

    Responsible Disposal

Items that cannot currently be recycled are disposed of according to responsible waste management practices while SleeveCycle continues to seek improved recycling solutions.

  • What is SleeveCycle?

SleeveCycle is a nonprofit initiative focused on reducing plastic waste generated by trading card collecting. Many hobby supplies — including sleeves, rigid holders, and packaging materials — are made from plastics that are difficult to recycle through traditional municipal systems. SleeveCycle works to collect these materials, extend their useful life through reuse, and connect them with responsible recycling pathways. Through community participation and education, SleeveCycle aims to create a more sustainable future for the hobby.

    Why SleeveCycle Exists

Millions of plastic sleeves, holders, and wrappers are used in the trading card hobby every year. Most of these materials are not accepted in curbside recycling programs and often end up in landfills. SleeveCycle was created to provide collectors with a responsible alternative. By collecting and redistributing reusable supplies and developing recycling pathways for hobby plastics, SleeveCycle helps make the hobby more sustainable.

    Our Mission

SleeveCycle is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing landfill waste in the trading card hobby through reuse, recycling, and environmental education. We collect hobby plastics such as card sleeves, top loaders, and packaging materials and ensure they are reused whenever possible or responsibly recycled when reuse is not possible.
